The Mentoring Network

The Mentoring Network, Inc. serves five rural school districts (Nampa, Caldwell, Parma, Homedale, Vallivue) offering school-based mentoring to at-risk students, grades 1st-8th.

The goals of the mentoring program are to improve at-risk students' attendance, grades, and behaviors through friendship building with responsible, caring adults (18yrs. and older) who meet with their student one hour, once a week, on the school grounds, during the school year.

Blazing Hope Youth Family Ranch
Blazing Hope Youth Family Ranch helps build relationships with children and their families in order to help them to develop and mature through the use of horses. Children are taught to care for, feed, exercise, ride and respect both horses and people. The important work ethic is taught as each child participates in the maintenance of the horses they love. Blazing Hope is a safe, positive and happy place where children are given hope.pted.

Canyon County Organizaion on Aging (CCOA)
The CCOA is a non-profit human services agency offering supportive and energy conservation services to Southwest Idaho. Our senior and income-qualified assistance services allow individuals and families to remain in their homes with dignity, safety and independence.

Court Appointed Special Advocate for Children (CASA)
CASA volunteers are appointed by judges to watch over and advocate for abused and neglected children, to make sure they don’t get lost in the overburdened legal and social service system or languish in inappropriate group or foster homes. Volunteers stay with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. For many abused children, their CASA volunteer will be the one constant adult presence in their lives.

Love INC of Treasure Valley
A strategy to help church people help their neighbors in need. A network of church volunteers that links them to needy people. A cooperative effort between churches and service agencies to provide effective help for the disadvantaged.

Pet Haven of Canyon County
Approximately 1500 animals pass through this facility each year.  They primarily handle cats, as the shelter is not large enough to sustain indoor dog runs.   Cats are spayed or neutered, vaccinated, wormed, checked for ear mites and tested for feline leukemia before they are adopted.
